Three Reasons Why You Should Hire A Real Estate Agent

4/11/2017

Many people assume that skipping out on hiring a real estate agent to help them buy or sell a home will save them money. Others prefer to negotiate directly with a buyer or seller, and still others think real estate agents are working solely for their own gain.

What these people don't know is that real estate agents rely on referrals for their work, so doing what's best for their clients is much more important than a specific home price or commission. A happy client will refer their friends to the wonderful real estate agent they worked with, and that's how agents get most of their business.

Negotiating with a buyer or seller on your own may seem simple, but buying or selling a home is a big deal and emotions can run high during the process. A real estate agent acts as the middle man, saving you time and money in the process.

Three Reasons Why You Should Hire a Real Estate Agent

Their Expertise

Real estate agents are trained and have experience in the process of buying and selling real estate. Sure, you could look up information about the process online, but an agent is educated and spends their days immersed in the real estate world. They know the local area and even have access to listings the average buyer can't obtain.

Another thing real estate agents have access to? The most up-to-date information about recent sales of competing listings and comparable homes in the area. If you're selling your home, this is helpful because an agent can help you set the price so you aren't cheating yourself out of money or wasting your time with a price that is too high for the area.

Their Negotiation Skills

Real estate agents act as the go-to between buyers and sellers. If you're buying a house, you may have concerns you need addressed before you decide to put in an offer. Your agent acts as the neutral party in the buying process so your concerns can be conveyed to the sellers without causing contempt and the best price can be negotiated for you.

If you're selling your home, an agent is available to give objective advice about showing the home's strengths to buyers', negotiating without emotion, and completing all the steps needed to close the deal.
Picture

To Save Time and Money

Real estate agents do a bit of everything, from making appointments to see homes, getting in touch with sellers' agents, finding homes that meet your needs, helping you set a price for the sale of your home, negotiating, giving unbiased advice, researching the local market, and drawing up all the paperwork that goes along with the sale and purchase of a property.

On top of all that, a good agent helps you avoid costly mistakes in the home buying and selling process and assists you in getting the best deal. With an agent doing all of that work, you're saving time and money.

My husband just got a new job in a different part of the state, so we need to find a new home. It's interesting how you point out that real estate agent act as the go-to between buyers and sellers. Since my husband is really busy with his new job and commuting back and forth, it would be nice to have someone like that to take care of all the details so we're not as stressed. I'm looking to buy a home, and I've been on the fence about getting a real estate agent involved. I noticed in the article that you mentioned a real estate agent can handle the negotiating for me during the buying process to help ensure that I get the best price possible. Negotiation intimidates me, so maybe hiring an agent for this purpose would prove to be money well-spent in my situation.

No doubt, money is a very hot theme in present-day's economy. This fast-paced world always forces us to struggle for this tiny papers that we mostly want to see inside our pocket. Without these little bills, we can't keep ourselves alive and entertained. For that reason, we always wish to get the most out of each penny. This can be only possible if you make your huge transactions without any error. I think any transaction that occurs in the planet of real estate is always a huge one. So, it must be done without making any mistake and it will be possible when the whole undertaking is done under a supervision of an experienced real estate mouthpiece- http://www.martinlandis.com/.

I agree that a trained real estate agent will be able to be a neutral party for you during the buying or selling process. I love how you described that real estate agents have the power of knowing so much about the process of buying and selling. This is valuable when you are looking at a market with so much competition. In my opinion, there are some things we can do ourselves and some things we just can't. Real estate is so involved with information and know how, with a huge investment like that, a realtor is a must.

I love that you talked about the importance of knowing the expertise of your service provider to know their power. My best friend told me that he planned to buy a new home with sufficient space for his desired backyard, and he asked if I had any idea what could be the best option to do. Thanks to this informative article and I'll be sure to tell him that it will be much better if we consult a real estate agent as they can help him search for the property that he wants.

I was captivated when you mentioned that real estate agents serve as a neutral party between buyers and sellers. My sister wants to buy a home for her growing family. I think she should hire a real estate agent with good negotiation skills to ensure she gets the best deal.

Negotiation skills sound extremely important for something as life-changing as a home. Having someone with me who can decide what it's really worth could be a great help so that my money goes to the right place. I'll ask around for any real estate experts that can help me when I begin home browsing.

But an agent is educated and spends their days immersed in the real estate world. They know the local area and even have access to listings the average buyer can't obtain. Your great post!
